In this section you will find the maps accompanying the list.

The (id)entities are presented within the relevant state map(s); (id)entities straddling two or more states are provided with a separate map.

Mark that the  maps' only purpose is to give a general idea about the location of the id-entities listed on the website. They are purely indicative and do not lay any claim to accuracy or accountability. Therefore they are for home use only and cannot be reproduced elsewhere in any circumstance (and certainly not for any movement to lay territorial claims)  – the lay-out is at this stage moreover very simple, so reproduction in any other context than IdEnt is (also for esthetic reasons) not advisable (but if you still feel inclined to do so, please use the contact form beforehand). Moreover, borders and boundaries are by definition fluid and dynamic (as over time also state boundaries are destined to be). And place names are not always put on the map in relation to their (population) size, but for instance because of their historical importance or their location near a boundary). And finally, the maps are currently all in a preliminary or at the most, a first or second draft version! The stage of development of a map  is indicated on it, after the date, as follows: [no indication] = preliminary sketch > /B=  first draft > /1 = second draft > /2 =  final draft > /3 = ready for reproduction.
