MAPS
This website is currently under construction!
In this section you will find the maps accompanying the A-Z entries.
The (id)entities are presented within the relevant state map(s); (id)entities straddling two or more states are provided with a separate map.
The maps are currently all in a first draft version!
Mark that the maps are also purely indicative and do not lay any claim to accuracy or accountability. They therefore are for home use and cannot be reproduced elsewhere in any circumstance – the lay-out is at this stage moreover very simple, so reproduction in any other context than IdEnt is (also for esthetic reasons) not advisable. Their only purpose is to give a general idea about the location of the id-entities listed on the website. Moreover, borders and boundaries are by definition fluid and dynamic (as over time also state boundaries are destined to be).
Different types of boundaries are drawn on the map as follows:
______________ : contour of the map's subject (state, (historical) region etc.)
_._._._._._._._._._. : state border within a (historical) region
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -: boundary of (historical) region within a state
Names are put on the map in Boldoni 72/11 and differ as follows: (id)entities: 12, small caps / places: 11; map / subject: 14, bold / IdEnt logo: 10
