International (scientific) transliteration

For endonyms written in non-Latin alphabets, the following international (scientific) transliteration systems are used:

Abkhazian: ISO 9:1995

Belarusian: ISO 9:1995

Georgian: ISO 9:984

Greek: ELOT-743

Russian: UGEGN 4:2016 [= Ghost 1983 system]

Rusyn / Ruthenian: ISO 9

Ukrainian: National 1996 [= the national system and not the rarely applied (international, scientific) ISO 9:1995 system, as the national system is used by the Ukrainian authorities ànd the United Nations]
